The Bank of Zachary has promoted Laura Steen to Chief Administrative Officer, President and CEO Preston L. Kennedy announced today. Mrs. Steen will have primary responsibility over Human Resources, Facilities Management and Security at all bank locations.
“While these responsibilities are almost always ‘behind the scenes’, they are of the utmost importance to the efficient operation of our bank,” Kennedy said. “This designation as Chief Administrative Officer is a reflection of the valuable service Laura renders to the Bank of Zachary.”
Mrs. Steen has been with Bank of Zachary since 1979. A native of McComb, Mississippi, she spent her formative years in New Orleans. Laura and her husband Will have been residents of Zachary for 36 years. They have a daughter, Rachel, and 3 granddaughters.
Mrs. Steen is a past President of the Zachary Chamber of Commerce, and she was inducted into the Chamber’s Hall of Distinction in 2009. She has volunteered for numerous community projects, and is a founding member of FAZE Foundation Assisting Zachary Education.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), in addition to insuring bank deposits, is the primary federal regulator for state-chartered banks like the Bank of Zachary. The FDIC compiles and publishes a wealth of statistics on the banking industry, and other periodic information as well.
